Details

Feature 2S has a unique 360º stereo soundscape pick-up even when the source of sound emanates from a single point. This is achieved by using two small diaphragm condenser capsules with a fixed omnidirectional stereo pick-up mounted in a single body. Due to its innovative design, Feature 2S is completely phase-coherent and mono-compatible, requiring no decoding or processing. It outputs left and right stereo channels with 3 levels of switchable pre-attenuation. This makes Feature 2S especially suitable for recording ambience soundscapes, sports events, church organs, round tables, etc. Feature 2S is not an assembly line microphone; each unit is hand-wired, point to point, and voltage tuned for maximum performance.

History

Feature 2S was designed by Vito Gospodnetić, a sound engineer with over 40 years of field and studio recording experience and Eduard Forman, a professional analog audio equipment expert. The first prototype was made more than 30 years ago for the purpose of recording a radio-feature production. The design has been improved over the years and its creators have received numerous awards for productions recorded with this type of microphone. This final, tried and true version is now available for purchase.
